Bukubung workshop in the field

Due to its popularity we have continued our highly acclaimed Workshop in The Field for 2010:

Nikon Travel Africa with Legacy Hotels and Resorts and Bakubung Bush Lodge have partnered to offer you, the photographic enthusiast, an opportunity to discover more of the world of nature, wildlife and landscape photography, as well as refine both your practical photographic technique and digital image processing under the well trained eye of a Nikon Professional Wildlife Photographer.

The Workshop in The Field photographic workshop is suitable for both experienced and novice photographers - the only criteria is that you must love nature and photography - our professional photographer will do the rest to ensure a memorable, informative experience.

Bakubung Bush Lodge:

Only 2 hours from Johannesburg or 10 minutes from Sun City, Bakubung, or "People of the Hippo", is situated in the Pilanesberg National Park. It offers guests everything they could possibly need to get in touch with nature without having to forfeit their creature comforts.

Standard Studio Rooms are air conditioned and provide either two double beds or one king sized bed and en suite bathroom with shower. Enjoy beautiful views of the park and Hippo Pool from the patio or balcony.

Pilanesberg National Park:

The Pilanesberg National Park is located in the North West Province of South Africa, west of Pretoria and is administered by the North West Parks Board. Unlike most other national parks in South Africa, the Pilanesberg is not managed by South African National Parks Board. At 572 km2 it is the fourth largest national park in South Africa.

The crater of a long extinct volcano is the setting of Pilanesberg National Park - a fascinating alkaline complex produced by volcanic eruptions some 1300 million years ago. Pilanesberg is one of the largest volcanic complexes of its kind in the world. Its rare rock types and structure make it a unique geological feature. Ancient, even by geological time scales, this extinct volcano is the most perfect example of an alkaline ring complex. A number of rare (but not necessarily economically important) minerals occur in the park. Pilanesberg National Park rates high amongst the world's outstanding geological phenomena. Pilanesberg has survived ages of erosion and stands high above the surrounding bushveld plains.
